
KUALA TERENGGANU, July 24 (Bernama) -- A medicine seller hit an enforcement officer's head as he tried to avoid arrest in an operation against illegal medicine in Besut recently.
The incident at 10.30am on Friday occurred when several health enforcement officers were inspecting medicine sold at Pasar Tani in Kuala Besut, Besut.
State CID chief ACP K Manoharan said the medicine seller was found to be in possession of seven types of medicine not registered with the Health Ministry.
Further checks revealed that the 48 year-old medicine seller was in possession of a bag hidden under a table.
"When an officer tried to grab the bag, the medicine seller hit the officer's head with his hand and fled with the bag.
"The medicine seller was arrested after a chase but the bag was nowhere to be found," he told reporters here today.
Manoharan said police are still searching for the bag believed containing prohibited substances.

The case is investigated under Section 353 and 186 of Penal Code for obstructing a public officer.
