Stop smoking meds can be dangerous

To the Editor:

The most popular stop-smoking drug is Chantix, with known side effects of hostility, agitation, depressed mood, suicidal thoughts or acts, loss of consciousness and now, increased risk of serious heart problems.

So what is it that the less popular stop smoking drugs don't do?

Apparently those who were selling refrigerators where they weren't needed are now selling Chantix to an estimated 7 million U.S. users. Are the same persons who are selling cigarettes, with its own list of life threatening effects, those who are selling the pills to stop smoking?

How persuasive, or how gullible?

I quit smoking when the price of a pack was raised from .25 to .35, because I didn't think it was worth it. And this was before they were proven harmful. And no, I don't need a fridge.
