SHARJAH ?? The Sharjah Court of First Instance on Wednesday sentenced five persons to one to five years imprisonment for consuming Tramadol tablets, an illegal drug substance.
One of the accused, a UAE national, was sentenced to imprisonment only while the four others including two Yemenis and two Iraqis will be deported after completion of the jail term.
The case dates back to July this year, when the police arrested three persons red handed in Al Qasimia area while consuming the drug inside a car. During interrogation and investigation the accused confessed to the crime and also reported about two others who had supplied the drug to them.-- afkarali@khaleejtimes.com
