Man??s jail term ?for taking ?drugs upheld

FUJAIRAH ?? The Fujairah Court of Appeal on Tuesday upheld the Court of First Instance??s verdict, sentencing a man to a year in jail for possessing and taking drugs.

The accused, F.T., was stopped by the police while driving his car. On searching the vehicle, the cops recovered some Tramadol pills.

He was sent to a hospital for a medical checkup. The tests showed that he had consumed hallucination pills like the ones found in his possession.

He was referred to the Court of First Instance which found him guilty and ordered him to r emain behind bars for a year.

The convict contested the verdict at the Appellate Court. Presiding Judge of the Appellate Court Abdullah Al Salami turned down his petition, and upheld the lower court’s ruling.
