Hypnotist helps people kick the habit

A well-known Canadian stage hypnotist is turning his talents to a stop-smoking seminar.

Paul Royter says an evening of education, training and self-hypnosis gives smokers the tools and the will to quit their habit.

Royter is a 30-year entertainer who has traveled around the world doing comedy stage shows but he's also a registered certified hypnotherapist who studied at the American Institute of Hypnosis in California.

"The reason that it is so difficult for people to stop smoking," says Royter in a news release, "is that the subconscious mind has been conditioned to believe that the nicotine is good for them."

The hypnotist says his work just guides people into making the necessary changes to make their lives healthier and happier.

Royter will be in Brantford at the Best Western Brant Park Inn on Mar. 31 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $49.95 and can be purchased online at www.paulroyter.comor at the door, which opens at 6 p.m.
