Frankfort man faces drug-trafficking charges after bust

An investigation led to an arrest and one of the larger drug busts in Franklin County, Sheriff Pat Melton said Thursday.

Anthony "Tony" Wilhoite, 43, of Frankfort was arrested Wednesday night and charged with 22 felonies and one misdemeanor, Melton said.

Items seized during the bust included six pistols, seven shotguns and rifles, 1,300 Percocets valued at $50,000, 125 vials of human growth hormone and steroids, 80 packages of Suboxone, about Сто Viagra and Cialis pills, 10 ounces of marijuana, 3.5 ounces of cocaine and $73,534 in cash. Two of the firearms had been stolen, Melton said.

Wilhoite is charged with multiple counts of trafficking in controlled substances, receiving stolen property, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and trafficking in marijuana.

Wilhoite was lodged in the Franklin County jail, where he remains in lieu of two full cash bonds totaling $122,000. Melton said evidence will be presented to a Franklin County grand jury next week for possible indictment.
